Breezeblock – a poem about…
I dance in the shadows Of something or someone Who might be me? I’m not sure if it’s accurate Cos right now I’m wasted Not really sure who to be
She’s holding back tears Plus the urge to run away Because she knows just how I feel Thankfully it’s the same within her A heartbeat to make her live Through teary eyes we know it’s real
She said to me I’m happy that you’re free Yet sometimes in your head Is a breezeblock
Please do not do this to me It’s not something I want to see Cos sometimes in your head Is a breezeblock
I get so frustrated with myself When I can’t work it out Hiding behind my distorted face Telling lies to me and me only Hiding everything away from her Questioning whether I am a disgrace
We consumed the fumes Intoxicated inside ourselves Until you deciphered my eyes I’ll slow it down Promise to work it out Don’t go gentle on my cries
She said to me I’m happy that you’re free Yet sometimes in your head Is a breezeblock
Please do not do this to me It’s not something I want to see Cos sometimes in your head Is a breezeblock
